Tuxedo Jacket

Jacket: Express // Tee: J. Crew // Jeans: Loft // Wedges: Jimmy Choo // Bag: Francesca's // Bracelets & Necklace: J. Crew // Sunnies: kate spade

I love mixing dressy and casual pieces together. I think it always adds an interesting and unexpected element into your every-day style! Of course, this tuxedo jacket goes with dresses and sequins, but it also pairs just as easily with tees and jeans for an effortless daytime ensemble.

Check back tomorrow to see how Laura and I style the same skirt for day and evening looks!

Citrus & Cognac

Ann Taylor Loft cardigan and jeans, Banana Republic shirt, Jessica Simpson wedges, J. Crew bracelets and clutch, kate spade sunnies

These boyfriend jeans have been on repeat every Friday...and pretty much every Saturday since I got them. I also may or may not wear them some Sunday evenings. I'm resisting the urge to get them in a darker wash, although I think I might go down a size in my next pair. These are my normal size 4 and fit great when I first put them on, but they stretch out quickly. Just a little perspective for those who are considering them... Get them now, and size down. Also, the regular length was perfect for my 5'3" height, surprisingly.

Does anyone have these Loft jeans AND the Gap boyfriends? What's your preference? I see those Gap jeans EVERYWHERE in blog land.

Sorry for the sporadic posting lately. I've admittedly been in some sort of funk... I've fallen behind on preparing my posts and currently have 515 unread blog posts on my Bloglovin feed. What is wrong with me?! I also have to catch up on replying to emails... I promise I haven't forgotten about you! Here's to hoping this funk goes away soon!

Anyone else know what I'm talking about?? What helps you get back into the groove?

Sam Edelman Trina Sandals

If you follow me on Instagram, you might remember me sharing my love for these cognac/snakeskin Sam Edelman sandals with a gorgeous metallic block heel. I swoon. I have held out on purchasing them because I've been hoping I'll score them on sale in a month or two.

However, as I was browsing online at LOFT, I spotted an identical pair except in black. At first, I simply thought they were the same shoe in a different color, since LOFT does sell some Sam Edelman shoes. But when I looked closer, I realized that they're not Sam Edelman at all, but LOFT's version of this adorable metallic low-heel sandal...and it also comes in other super versatile colors! While the full-price is only a $10 difference, LOFT is running a 40% off everything promotion, bringing the total down to $54! At about half price, would you consider LOFT's alternative?

If it wasn't for Sam Edelman's humongous signature on the bottoms, could you tell the difference? Which are your favorites?

P.S. If your heart is set on Sam Edelman, they are available on Piperlime for $100...Which would still leave you with another $100 to spend if you won the $200 gift card! What I'm getting at is, be sure and enter HERE for your chance to win and get these sandals for free!

Polished Weekend Wear

Sweater: Ann Taylor Loft / Blouse: J. Crew / Jeans: Express / Shoes: J. Crew / Clutch: J. Crew / Bracelet: J. Crew / Necklace: Sandy Hyun (on sale!) / Sunglasses: Kate Spade

Since it was so warm outside last weekend, I ditched my coat for a short-sleeved sweater. It was the perfect light layer for the 70 degree weather and I love how the chunky knit dresses down a silk blouse and statement jewelry. My necklace and bracelet are two of my very favorite pieces in my collection. I fell in love with both pieces after seeing how Emily styled them on her blog. I learned the hard way that following Cupcakes and Cashmere can be a major threat to my bank account.

I wore this last weekend for exciting Saturday afternoon activities (i.e. looking for Tyler new under shirts, new bronzer for me, and browsing the clearance section in TJ Maxx). I was so glad to get to spend the day with my hubby leisurely "running" around Memphis. While I like to have things to do, sometimes weekends with little to no plans is a relaxing and welcome change. Saturday night we met our friends Will and Courtney for Mexican and Jerry's sno cones. Side note: If you're like us and have never tried Jerry's, YOU MUST GO as soon as possible. I don't care if it's cold outside, you can sit in your car with the heat on while eating them. But it's not a bad idea to pack heat 'cause it's kinda in the ghetto. Side note 2: Take a moment and visit Courtney's blog, exodus31three! She's awesome!
